ok.. I used to wonder why people studied up on Revelations. It's not going to affect believers. We're getting raptured before The Tribulation after all. The closest I'd ever gotten to studying it was the kids version of the Left Behind books by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. recently, I got curious. I checked out Revelations for myself and came across this verse:
Revelations 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Oh..
Now I know. haha.
I'm not here to say I know when the rapture will occur. I don't. it would be silly to say that I did.
Matthew 24:34-36 (KJV)
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
as you can see, we can't know when. considering the angels don't know, it would be rather silly to say I did
however, before we get really down to business with the Tribulation, I think we should take a look at what the Bible predicted thousands of years ago that came true, and what's currently coming true in the world today
ok. The Bible stated that people would run to and fro, and knowledge would increase close to the end times.
Daniel 12:1-4 (KJV)
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
that sounds like today.. we live in the age of the internet, where knowledge can be found at the click of a button and the typing of the keyboard. we haven't been raptured yet, obviously, but the rapture gets closer each day..
however, I have a theory on why the rapture hasn't occured yet.. The Bible never mentions the USA ever. it mentions many other places in prophecy, but never mentions the US. while I cannot 100% say the US will be gone before the rapture occurs, there's a high chance.. look at the current direction this country is headed!!! it's heading in the direction of a collapse. we're fighting a losing battle every four years to keep it in existence. we can't stop fighting, but we're probably not going to win the battle.
Now, let's take a look at what's currently coming true
It will be as the days of Noah.. but how were the days of Noah?
Matthew 24:37-39 (KJV)
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Well, then.. That's coming true.. but there's more.
Luke 17:26-30 (KJV)
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
That sounds a lot like today...
what else did the Bible predict?
it predicted the religion of evolution. I'm not kidding
Romans 1:20-25 (KJV)
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
In the end times there will be scoffers.. there are scoffers today
2 Peter 3:1-10 (KJV)
1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
ok.. now that we've taken a look at what's has come to pass, and what's coming to pass, let's take a look at what the future holds.. it's time to read up on The Great Tribulation. we'll read Revelations together as a forum.
