recently I was replaying Twilight Princess. I was in Arbiter's Grounds. the spookiest place in the game
it should be noted that a few days ago, I asked God to help me not be so scared of Arbiter's Grounds before promptly teleporting out of the dungeon with Oocoo and going on a bug hunt. I found almost every golden bug. I just need the female snail. Agitha pays well
What makes Arbiter's Grounds so scary is like other games from the Zelda series have, it's the dungeon where dead things attack. I can handle the stalfos, and the Bubbles.. what scares me is the Redeads.. I don't know what it is.. the design.. the scream that parylizes you, or their slow movement as they head towards you that you can't run from or do anything about as they deal you significant damage. it could be all three, actually
Earlier today, I teleported back inside the dungeon. while I was playing, part of a verse came to me. I haven't memorized this verse, so it was pretty surprising
"As I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear no evil."
since I knew full well this probably wasn't the full verse, I looked it up
Psalm 23:4 (KJV)
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
After that, I didn't feel nearly so scared. I felt a little bit afraid, but not as much. it was a little easier to get through the dungeon
as I mentioned earlier there's more than one Zelda game that has a dungeon filled with dead things. through the Christian perspective, dungeons like the Shadow Temple, and Arbiter's Grounds could quite easily be interpreted as a journey through the "Valley of the shadow of death" so to speak. remember. don't be scared of the redeads or the Stalfos. They're part of the evil within the dungeons. Don't be afraid. you can beat the dungeon. God is with you even as you play your video games
that is just my personal take on the matter.
