According to the Bible, Christians have the ability to cast out demons.
The first time I did cast one out, However, I didn't even know which scriptures layed out how to do it. The phrase "in the name of Jesus Christ, get out of here now" was literally the first thing that popped into my mind.
Why did this work exactly?
Let's take a look at the Scriptures on how to cast out demons.
Mark 16:15-17(KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be duckkcuded.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
I can't comment on the speaking in tongues thing. I've never done it myself. But I have cast out demons using the method that verse describes.
The phrase "in the name of Jesus Christ, get out of here now!" Works very well.
However, sometimes this doesn't work. Why not? After all, every Christian has this authority why wouldn't this method always work?
There's actually a verse on what to do when it doesn't work.
Mark 9:25-29 (KJV)
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
So there you have it. How to cast out a demon is quite easy for Christians.
We don't use magic spells which will ironically attract more of them. We use Christ's name to cast out demons and pray as well as fast.
How do we know what we're doing actually works? I hear you thinking
Well, I've seen results..
How do we know that magic will fail you every time?
Well.. The Devil and his demons enable magic. Using his own power to "cast him out" doesn't work because then his kingdom would fall apart, and he wouldn't do that to himself.
Matthew 12:22-26 (KJV)
22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23 And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
So there you have it. Next time you come across a demon, you can cast it out using Christ's name, or by praying and fasting. I hope this guide was helpful
